Whether you're a total beginner playing your very first notes or an intermediate pianist building your technique, reading, and music theory, Chenyi brings a rare blend of concert-level training, international stage experience, and warm, patient coaching to every lesson.

How Chenyi Coaches
Chenyi brings concert-hall experience straight into the studio. She earned the Platinum Award at the American Virtuoso International Music Competition, which led to an invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall, and she has given a full solo recital at St. Peter's Lutheran Church and performed with the Ottawa Youth Concert Orchestra. She knows exactly what it takes to prepare for a big performance, and every lesson is built to grow real confidence, not just technique.
As a holder of the Associate of The Royal Conservatory of Music (ARCT) Piano Diploma, the highest performance and academic achievement in the RCM system, Chenyi teaches the why behind the music. Her advanced RCM certificates in Harmony, Analysis, and History mean theory is explained in a way that feels natural rather than academic.
Lessons are built around the music each student already loves, and Chenyi is open to every style. Her own inspiration ranges from Frédéric Chopin, Maurice Ravel, and Ludwig van Beethoven to Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and Sabrina Carpenter. Whatever gets a student excited to sit down at the piano, Chenyi uses it to build real skills.
Having completed adaptive instructor training with the Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing (CADS), Chenyi adapts every lesson to each student's learning style, pace, and goals, and creates an environment where students feel completely comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Off the keys, you'll find her on the tennis court, travelling and exploring new places, or spending time with family and friends.

Chenyi's training goes far beyond the piano bench. With Level 8 in violin from The Royal Conservatory of Music and experience performing on baritone saxophone, she can explain rhythm, ear training, and theory from more than one angle, so concepts truly click.

Chenyi builds strong technique step by step, then helps students bring it to life, whether they're learning to read their first pieces, working through Royal Conservatory of Music levels, or playing a favourite song in any style.
