Where Ryan Helps Students Grow

Advanced Technique & Rhythm Dynamics Songwriting & Arrangement Simultaneous Vocal & String Performance

From foundational fingerpicking to complex arrangements across Guitar, Bass, and Ukulele, Ryan guides students through chord progression, lyric development, and song structure. His formal vocal training means he can also coach the mechanics of singing and playing at the same time — without breaking rhythm or vocal control.

On Stage

Real-World Experience

A staple in the local Ottawa music scene, Ryan has performed hundreds of shows over his 20+ year career — playing original acoustic music as well as fronting two active heavy metal bands. He's also a national tour veteran, having toured extensively across Canada with pop-punk outfit Holly Acres. This real-world gigging experience means he coaches students not just on technique, but on the confidence, stage presence, and musicality needed to play with others or perform live. His formal vocal training also makes him a dual-performance specialist, able to coach singers on how to sing and play string instruments at the same time.

His own bands lean rock and metal, but his coaching covers whatever genre a student wants to play — pop, acoustic, folk, and beyond.
