Sharlee

Master Vocal and Songwriting Coach

Hailing from Charlottetown, P.E.I., and now based in Ottawa, Sharlee is a dynamic indie, pop, and rock singer-songwriter. Her professional music career began at age 16, building on a foundation in Musical Theatre Performance and spanning a diverse range of genres—from R&B, jazz, and country to pop, rock, and funk.

Inspired by powerhouses like Amy Winehouse, Paramore, Feist, and Beyoncé, Sharlee brings a wealthy background of real-world industry experience directly to her coaching. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes body awareness and personal expression, giving students the confidence to explore new vocal techniques safely and authentically.

A powerhouse on stage, Sharlee actively fronts six different bands—including her solo project, Apollo Envy, Soundcheck, The Social Distance, Apollo Trio, and a Shania Twain Tribute. Her impressive track record of live shows and festival appearances includes:

  • Opening for Dear Rouge at Hope Rockfest 2025

  • Performing alongside JUNO-nominated blues artist JW-Jones

  • Playing all-original sets at Gussapalooza 2025 and the 10th Anniversary Voodoo Rockfest

  • Showcasing at Bluesfest’s She’s The One

Beyond teaching and performing, Sharlee stays inspired by staying active—you’ll often find her taking spin classes, going on hikes with her dog Wallace, spending quality time with family, and collaborating with fellow musicians.
